It's hard to focus on anything local or tomorrow's elections with the latest Walker assault on our Wisconsin way of life. But, here it is.

I think I'm getting to old and cranky to continue putting up with political bullshit. Why is the only time politicians mention affordable housing is when then are using it to get something else they want? Exhibit A:

For some very good reasons, I did not make it to the meeting yesterday where the alders gave their input into this agenda. But here it is . . . do you see anything missing?

This is just backwards. There's 12 blocks of Downtown that are being planned by an un-named staff team and the public is not being involved at all?

Only 16 meetings and one is cancelled. That is sure to change! Nearly half are before 5:00.

It's crowded - meeting starts off with President Mike Verveer telling people there is an overflow room for tonight and that there are interpreters here as well.

Once upon a time (about 7 years ago), the Tenant Resource Center got $60K for housing counseling from the federal government to run a statewide toll-free line. Then it went to $40K, then $25K, then $20K, then $0, then $20K and now back to $0. And now, no chance of getting any money, because the entire program has been zeroed out in the federal budget. Check out what will be lost!
