Council, If you Want More Power, Use the Power You Have
Sigh . . . I don't get it. Every time the council gets together to talk about how hard their jobs are they just look whiny and incompetent. Seriously, they can just use the power they already have to solve the problems they think they have. Please see my open letter to the council below.
“Draft” Day Resource Center Concept Paper
I might be being dense here, but there is nothing new in this that Lynn Green hasn't been saying all along. There appears to be no feedback mechanism at the moment, except to email Lynn Green and Casey Becker, but I don't know what happens with that feedback (likely nothing, like the rest of our feedback so far) and then I'm unclear what the next steps are except to go right to a RFP, with no public discussion of this.
Council Discusses “Reform” Tonight, Public Not Welcome
It's a public meeting, but there will be no public comment. I'm not sure why they don't want to hear from the public, but I think it stinks. It's our public body that represents us, changing how they represent us, but apparently we shouldn't worry our pretty little heads about it.
Madison Schools Week Ahead
I found 6 meetings . . . I'm sure there are more . . .
County Week Ahead
16 meetings, 10 of them before 5pm . . . working public not welcome.
City Week Ahead
Sorry for the delay, I worked 25 hours between Friday night at 6pm when our office closed and 3:30 am this morning. Nonprofit work is ridiculous. Anyways . . . that's over now! 21 meetings this week, on allegedly scheduled at 6:30 am on Wednesday, 8 of them scheduled before 5pm
