Establishing a voluntary energy benchmarking program – $190,000 grant without an RFP? Sole Source contracting because we don’t have many environmental groups around here that could do this work?
Setting the 2016 Rates for the City’s Stormwater Utility and the Madison Sewer Utility (5.22% increase for residential sanitary sewer, 3.35% for Stormwater for residential customers – average increase of $390 per year, $32.54 per month or 4.71% average increase)
Phase 6 of Union Corners won’t be done by Gorman and Company and we’ll be paying him $100,000. (I can’t tell why from the resolution)
Accepting the Public Market Implementation Strategy, directing City staff and the Local Food Committee to move forward with the Strategy’s five Work Elements, and authorize city staff to issue Requests for Proposals for two of the Work Elements (preconstruction work, articles of incorporation and by laws for new non-profit operating organization, assigning a board of directors, issuing an RFP for firm to help with tax credits, grants and fundraising, issue RFP for site plan and architectural design, implementing the “market-ready” program and working to gain momentum for the project with the public.)
TIF Policy exception to the 100 job minimum threshold for gap analysis waiver as outlined in Section 8(c)4 of the “TIF Underwriting Policy” to enable TIF support for the consolidation/expansion of Laser Express within the Silicon Prairie business park

Public art is away to feature public spaces; increase beauty, value, and overall livability in a community; attract visitors to an area; and pave paths toward long-term, sustainable enhancements of a city’s public places.
The ART+ Place panel discussion will feature:

 Karin Wolf, City of Madison Arts Program Administrator

Their conversation will focus on the way public art projects can highlight the potential of public spaces and result in transformative placemaking. This event is free for MMoCA members and employees of member businesses; $10 for non-members.
