– Steve Steinhoff from the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission will present information on “A Greater Madison Vision”, an initiative to develop a shared vision and plan for how the region grows in the next 2-3 decades. It is guided by a 40+ member Steering Committee of leaders from the public and private sectors. The Capital Area Regional Planning Commission provides staffing support as part of its statutory charge to prepare and adopt a master plan for the physical development of the region. The presentation will also cover outcomes from the “A Greater Madison Vision” values survey, their current public participation efforts and how they relate to Imagine Madison, the upcoming scenario planning process, and their desired outcomes for the initiative.

Authorizing the Mayor and Chief of Police to accept an USDOJ FY2017 Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Implementation grant award for $850,000 for two years to address crime and socio-economic drivers of crime within the Raymond Road Corridor; and amend budgets accordingly
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a sole contract with the Board of Regents for the University of Wisconsin System, on behalf of the University of Wisconsin’s Department of Community and Environmental Sociology, Applied Population Laboratory to maintain, update and refine the Neighborhood Indicators Project and related website and procure additional services as needed, from 2017-2022.
Authorizing the allocation of up to $4.35 Million from the Affordable Housing Fund to support two development projects, selected as part of a City Request for Proposals (RFP) process, that would involve the construction of approximately 175 units of affordable rental housing in Madison, Wisconsin, and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute loan agreements with the developers of those projects.
Authorizing the allocation of up to $1.48 million from the Affordable Housing Fund to support the development of approximately 50 units of affordable senior housing on property located at 7941 Tree Lane and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a loan agreement with CommonBond Communities for its development.
Authorizing the allocation of up to an additional $500,000 to Heartland Housing Inc, from the 2018 Affordable Housing Fund, and reauthorizing 2017 AHF loan commitments to Heartland to support development costs associated with a proposed project to construct approximately 60 units of permanent supportive housing in Madison, Wisconsin and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a loan agreement with Heartland.
