The short work week is nearly over and the plants are getting watered saving me time!
ROB’S LINK
I probably should have buried this one at the bottom of the post. Sigh. I’ve been with this guy for nearly 20 years.
ALRC RUNDOWN
Who’s losing their licenses? No one yet . . .
THOSE SHEEP
Frightening for the scientists?
FERTILIZER BAN NECESSARY
Is that what the State Journal was saying when we passed the fertilizer ban, or were they saying we were all anti-business and everything? I honestly can’t remember and can’t find anything.
HOLY VAN HOLLEN
Really, going after teaching medical students? Sigh . . .
RAW MILK REVOLT
Radicals. Where’s the anti-business defenders?
RIDE THE DRIVE THIS WEEKEND
I’m not a huge fan, but don’t really care either, I just don’t get it, why is it such a big deal. I was there last year, but think its kind of silly. However, I do want to know, if you live inside the loop, how do you get out, not through? Are people trapped inside the loop during this time? And I wonder how folks on Johnson and Gorham feel about all the added traffic on their streets during that day?
STUPID CITY
I haven’t done a “stupid city” in a while, been keeping my rants to myself. And I haven’t posted a photo to this blog yet, so here’s a photo from this morning. No parking signs posted where there is no parking spaces. Brilliant. (This is the block on East Washington where the WMC is, between Blair and Franklin.)
Ah, that was much nicer than blogger . . . enjoy the photo of me sitting in traffic, not parked.
TEXTBOOK COST
Doesn’t it depend up where you buy it from? And if you can buy it used?
EMILY, THERE IS NO COMPROMISE WITH THE SHERIFF
And attempts have been made for years. He won’t budge, that is why there is an Immigration Task Force, which he also plans to ignore. The only action to be taken is elections. If you don’t believe me, read this. He says its his policy, no one can tell him what to do and he’s not going to change it. So, the voters have to.
STATE BLEW IT ON HIGH SPEED RAIL
And they seem to know it. At least the employees stuck with the fall out seem to know.
DONATE YOUR GENTLY USED GARDEN TOOLS
Donate Tools to Support Gardening to Benefit Youth and Communities
Bring your gently used garden tools to the Northside Farmers Market during the month of June and help support community and youth garden programs in the Madison area. Community and youth gardens are growing at record numbers in the Madison area. Over the last year, Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, Inc. has supported the establishment of 14 new community gardens, many of which serve youth and low-income families. Whether the result of the burgeoning urban agriculture movement, the poor economy, or new trends in education, it is clear that gardening programs are becoming an important part of our community by helping to improve food security, build civic pride, and renew our relationship with the earth and the honorable tradition of growing our own food.
Shovels, hoes, pitchforks, hand trowels, children’s tools, wheelbarrows, and metal garden rakes are among the tools needed. All you have to do is bring your donation down to the Northside Farmers Market any Sunday in June, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and place it in the collection barrel at the Market Information Booth. The market is held at the Northside Town Center across from Warner Park. All donated tools will be available from Community Action Coalition starting in July. Community and youth garden programs in need of garden tools will simply need to contact Community Action Coalition at 246.4730 x208 to request the tools they need.
Thanks for your support!
