The new Mayor of Monona and President of Cottage Grove:
Monona results:
Bob Miller has defeated Council President Jeffrey Wiswell, Sr. for Mayor of Monona, 2393 – 1361, according to unofficial results. Doug Wood (2351), Jim Busse (2056) and Chad Speight (2006) won seats on the city council, while incumbent Mike Veserat was the odd man out with 1725 votes
Cottage Grove Results:
Diane Wiedenbeck has defeated incumbent Mike Mikalsen for Village President, 1062 – 974, according to unofficial results. Ken Dahl (1069), Jennifer Pickel (944) and Micah Zielke (928) have won seats on the Village Board. Incumbent Paula Severson finished fourth (846), Andrew Last was fifth (681).
County Exec & Supreme Court:
So how much influence did the Supreme Court and County Executive races have on our local results? Hard to say, but here are the results: Parisi won the Village of Cottage Grove 1259 – 743, the Town of Cottage Grove 871 – 604 and the City of Monona, 2843 – 906. Kloppenburg also had large margins of victory throughout our coverage area, winning Monona 2916 – 974, the Village of Cottage Grove 1360 – 786, and the Town of Cottage Grove 921 – 602.
