Please read it over and let me know if you have questions regarding the application process. We expect that the waiting list will be open for a very short time. We do not want more applications than we can serve in one to two years.
The process for filling out the online application is a very simple one. Thank you in advance for helping those in need of navigating the online process. Unfortunately we will not have computers available at Dane County Housing Authority. We do have numbered paper applications for those who need a reasonable accommodation because of disability. But we strongly encourage the online process.
Section 8 HCV Waiting List Opening
TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2015 @ 10 AMThe Dane County Housing Authority will be opening the waiting list for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10 am. This will be open until we receive a sufficient number of applications that can be served in one to two years.
Applications will be accepted online only at www.dcha.apply4housing.com. The link will be available on our website at www.dcha.net (under Housing Choice Voucher Program column).
***Before you begin the application process, please have available your social security card, names and dates of birth of all family members. Also you will need income of all family members. Make sure you have typed correctly all HAVE PAPER AND PEN READY TO WRITE DOWN YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER. Submit only ONE application online. Duplicate forms will not be accepted.

DCHA will not have computers available. Free computers will be available during business hours at local area libraries, Urban League on Park Street, Centro Guadalupe Catholic Multicultural Center on Beld Street and various Dane County Human Services offices.
Waiting List Information
The Housing Authority doesn’t give a status or position number for your housing application
Head of household must be at least 18 years of age at the time of this application
Applicant and all members of the family must meet USHUD requirements on citizenship or immigration
Application position on wait list will not be based on date and time of application submission. Applicants will be randomly sorted and served based on preferential scoringMaintaining Your Status on the Waiting List
If you are added to the waiting list, you will be notified by mail when your name comes to the top of the waiting list or if we are updating our files. If you do not respond to our notifications within the specified time period, or your letter is returned undeliverable, your name will be removed from the waiting list. If you have a change of address, phone number, income or family size, you must notify us within 10 business days of the change. ALL CHANGES MUST BE IN WRITING. No changes will be taken over the phone.
