April is a busy month, starting tonight (not on the weekly schedule).
If you’re not following this stuff regularly, some of this is gibberish . . . but . . . here it is.
Monday April 9 6:30 PM City Of Madison Streets East Lunch Room, 4602 Sycamore Avenue – Well 15 air stripper. Well 15 (East Wash-Lien Road) supplies water to entire East High School-side of East Wash Corridor. Well 15 water has cancer-causing PCE in it. The City is installing an air stripper at Well 15 to remove PCE from the water. This citizen panel has been discussing with Utility staff, throughout process, what type of air stripper City should choose, details like what it will look like, noise levels. At this point, the core group of local citizens who’ve been involved in this process appear to be comfortable with and supportive of all aspects of plans going ahead.
Wednesday April 11 6:00 PM O’Keeffe Middle School Cafeteria – New East Side Well – City has determined East Side will need one new well in future, likely in 2015-2017 timeframe. This citizen panel is evaluating six potential sites.
Monday April 16 East Side Open House 6:30 PM Goodman Community Center – To review where City is at with all various East Side drinking water issues including: 1. Well 8 (Olbrich sledding hill); 2. Well 7 (Sherman-Schlimgen); 3. Well 15 (East Wash-Lien Rd); 4. New East Side well site.

Different day, different location for those unable to get to April 16 Open House.Tuesday April 24 Madison Water Utility Board (at its regular monthly meeting) receives final wrap-up report from Black & Veatch consulting engineer Paul Boersma who has been working on all the various East Side issues.
