I’ve been listening to Rob rant for the last 20 minutes about what a bad choice this is . . . and of course, I’m not a Dem insider so I don’t know what is going on but . . . this is bad for poor people.
Politico is announcing Kathleen Falk will be announcing. I’m sad after seeing what she did to Human Services over the past 10 years – flat or reduced funding while the county and the needs grew. And now Parisi is following in her footsteps. Low-income people in Dane County do not have an advocate in either of them, and now she could be governor? Tell me there are other Democrats running. Please. Tho, I’m not sure that will make a difference. Frustrating. Could we have had one more day to rejoice over the million signatures.
8:57 am, first fundraising appeal.
Dear Friends:
I want my longtime supporters to be the first to know: I have decided to run for governor as we join together to defeat Scott Walker and get our state back on track.
One million Wisconsinites signed recall petitions in an unprecedented and inspiring show of solidarity and determination. Things are not working here and we must, we can, and we will do better.
Our campaign begins by reaching out to you this morning. I need your help. Please visit our website here to be one of the first to view our video announcement, and don’t forget to join us on Twitter by clicking here and on Facebook by clicking here.
At a time when the people of Wisconsin face serious challenges, Scott Walker’s way is just not working: months of job losses, billions of dollars in tax breaks for corporations, painful cuts to health care for women and children, an assault on the longstanding rights of nurses, teachers, snowplow drivers and other workers who bargained fairly. And a governor who has not been honest with voters and who has attacked the values we hold so dear.
We can’t wait three more years to fix what’s wrong. I hope you will visit www.kathleenfalk.com to join with me by volunteering for the campaign, by making a financial contribution of $25 or whatever is comfortable for you, by “liking” my Facebook page…and most importantly, by letting me know you will stand with me as we take on the fight of our lives.
As your governor, I will make different choices than Scott Walker. I know Wisconsin is a place where we can have good paying jobs, a clean environment, successful schools and affordable health care. We can have workers and management talking and working together to solve tough problems.
I know we can, because I did it for more than a decade as a chief executive. And I know we can do it again. The people of Wisconsin have done a brave thing: demanded change. And together we will continue to make history and take back our state.
Thank you for all you do.
Kathleen
I’d like to get one email, once, from the Democrats where they are NOT! asking for money. Or at least recognize that I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT!
