Compliments of the City of Madison. They can’t even blame it on the county . . . not this time . . .
In case you can’t read it all it says . . .
This elevator is not working well.
You may need to call it more than once.
You may not get to the desired floor.
You may need to push the “open door” button to get on and off.
Service has been called.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Facilities maintenance.

Being tempted, I got in and had to find out what happened. The first time I did it, I pressed 2 and ended up on the third floor. I giggled and walked down the steps to the second floor. Hoping to have more adventures, I’ve tempted fate a few more times, but sadly, I have no adventures to report, alas, I made it to the correct destination, didn’t need to push the button to open the door and everything worked out just fine. No good story here. Just my favorite. sign. ever. Kudos to whomever wrote it.
btw – the sign was still there as of last Thursday if you want to see it for yourself.
The sign has been posted for nearly a month (note the 7/14/10 date). If service really has been called and hasn’t come yet, I think it’s time for a new service contract.
