Forward Lookout on WORT 11/4/24

Each Monday, we take a look at the week in local government that lies ahead.

This week, host Brenda Konkel sits down with News Director Chali Pittman for some of the highlights.

On the county side, the Dane County Board will consider zoning for a new pickle fermentation site. And the Board of Canvassers will meet on Friday to review the results this Tuesday’s election and certify the results.

On the city side, the cost of Dane County Jail is ticking up, and Brenda explains what a change order even is. There are no city meetings on Tuesday because it’s Election Day, and whether voters approve the city funding referendum could dictate how next week’s budget deliberations go.

Meanwhile, the Board of Parks Commissioners gets an update on why people are intentionally leaving toys in parks, and Brenda celebrates that a subcommittee of the Police Civilian Oversight Board has finally posted an agenda in advance.
