Many of you may be attending Gallery Night, I’d suggest stopping by two places in particular:
SOCIAL JUSTICE CENTER/ART SURGE III: GLOBAL INSTIGATIONS
The Social Justice Center has some great political art by 14 local artists. I’ve seena preview of some of it and its thought provoking. The Jackie Macaulay Gallery is located at 1202 Williamson St. If you miss it tonight, the art will be there during the month of May.
WYOU/DANCE FABULOUS
WYOU Community Television presents art in five dimensions with Collide-a-scopes, a live performance installation of video and movement created by station producers Heidi Johnson and Eric Allin in association with Dance Fabulous.
Dance Fabulous dancers will exhibit dances from around the world and combine with some improvisational and modern dancers Heidi Johnson has worked with in her production of experimental video in the past.\
The dancers will be videotaped, their feeds remixed live by Eric Allin and then projected back into the dance space creating echos of the performance. The show is a unique opportunity for artists to connect on multiple levels.
