Energy efficiency assistance for homeowners.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Green Madison, a City of Madison program for energy efficiency designed to help homeowners’ make smart energy efficiency improvements while keeping the costs of improvements affordable. The residential portion of Green Madison launched in April 2011, with the commercial portion to follow in the next six – eight weeks.
The Green Madison program is for homeowners (owner-occupied; 1- 3 units) who are interested in making energy efficiency improvements to enhance the comfort of their home. The program benefits include energy advocates, low-interest unsecured financing through Summit Credit Union, and reduced price for a professional energy inspection by approved consultants. Green Madison participants are able to take advantage of Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy rebates. Additional information about Green Madison is available on the City’s website: www.cityofmadison.com/greenmadison.
City of Madison staff and the Energy Advocates are looking for opportunities to make presentations and take part in neighborhood events to share information with City of Madison residents about the program. Presentations can be tailored for neighborhood associations or can be generalized for larger groups. Please contact me to setup presentations or to coordinate events.
Green Madison is advertising in some community and neighborhood newspapers, thanks to sponsorship from MG&E, a program partner. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the advertisement or please refer any questions from interested homeowners to me. Below are two examples of the advertisements in local papers:
I appreciate any assistance you are able to provide to get the word out to City of Madison homeowners. The program has a large goal of reaching 4,500 homeowners over the initial three-year program timeframe. Please contact me with any questions.
Thank you,
