I won’t be doing much campaigning here, but until people get connected to the campaign and get used to the new contacts and social media I may post a few things here. Here’s all the contact information and how to get involved. This is going to be a lot of work and require a lot of volunteer power.
COME CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY ON THURSDAY
So, I announced so that instead of birthday gifts, people could donate to the campaign (or Tenant Resource Center or Occupy Madison). To donate to the Social Justice Center, attend their event the following day. My birthday is July 20th and I’ll be turning 50!!! So we will be at

5 – 7pm
Music will be by Sunshine Daydrink. Snacks will be provided. Cash bar. You can donate, sign up to volunteer, endorse, etc. Very little speechifying, but mingling and talking with like minded people. Here’s the facebook event, please indicate if you’re coming or interested! This is not just a campaign event, it really is a birthday party, so even if you already support another candidate, if you’re a friend, stop by! Donate to one of the other good causes!

Some people might be wondering why campaigns are announcing in July for an election in February (primary 2/19) and April (general 4/2). It’s simple. Money. Running for mayor takes a lot of money and most of the candidates aren’t used to raising that much money and so we need to get started. Donations can’t be received until there is a registered campaign account! So, as much as I’d like to to publicly financed campaigns, we haven’t figured out how to get around state restrictions to make that happen at a local level, so I need to ask people for money.
