– Alders to talk about their budget priorities

4:30 PM COMMON COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE ROOM 108 CCB
– The Common Council hasn’t submitted their budget yet, so they need to approve/amend the staff recommendation at this meeting. Their proposals include cutting alder small budgets in half or dropping staff to 80% and 75% positions.
– Rediscussion of adding alders to ALRC and Public Safety Review Commission
Eliminating residency requirements for managers and supervisors
Fixing chapter 32 and having more items eligible for police to issue tickets plus requiring landlords to put info on check out sheets about right to inspect photos of apartment.
Discussion of TIF and “but for”
– Create a committee to talk about alcohol licensing and enforcement (I think this is about the bar raids)

– I never understood how this was legal, if they didn’t announce what they were talking about. I haven’t seen one of these for quite some time, but they will likely talk about budget, hotels and library and whatever else the Mayor wants to announce.

12:00 PM PERSONNEL BOARD ROOM 525 CCB
– This one sucks, personally. I spent a year or more helping come up with the important recommendations in this report, but can’t even speak to the committee about them.
– Finally adopting the personnel rules (glad to have played a role in having made this happen too – tho I haven’t reviewed them in detail to determine what they changed – but they were in severe need of updating.
