He really wants you input, so he’s giving you plenty of notice of the meetings that start Monday and holding them in a month where the most people can attend. And yes, I’m being sarcastic.
Don’t get me wrong, he SAID the right thing:
“These public meetings are important opportunities for Madisonians to make their voices heard on the city’s budget priorities for the coming year,” Mayor Cieslewicz said. “It should come as no surprise that we continue to face a very challenging economic climate and a very challenging budget. Public input is extremely important to me as we work to protect services that are important to our citizens.”
He just doesn’t DO the right thing.
Here’s the meetings, plenty of time to get people to attend, right?

If you can’t make the meetings, he offers another way to give input: mayor@cityofmadison.com. I’d suggest you let him know what you think, and tell your neighbors too. His capital budget will be out in about 5 weeks (September 7) and the operating budget will be out October 5.
