McDonell Statement on Charter Street Plant
Scott McDonell, Dane County Board Chair and candidate for County Executive, today issued the following statement on Gov. Walker’s decision to spurn renewable energy at the University of Wisconsin’s Charter Street power plant:
“Once again, Scott Walker is taking us in exactly the wrong direction. The entire industrialized world is moving toward renewable energy sources, yet Walker and his corporate Republican allies keep pushing backward instead of forward. Walker and friends would rather keep America addicted to foreign fossil fuels than move toward renewable energy. They would rather create jobs in Texas, Alaska and the Middle East than right here in Wisconsin. It really makes no sense.”
