Monday Morning Round Up

Sorry, there was a pause for budget . . . which I still haven’t finished blogging, but I will throughout the week . . . which I have off! Yay!

I NEVER BELIEVED THIS WAS TRUE

Really, Frautschi bought State St. properties to tear them down so people at the Overture an see the Capitol. That is way too stereotypical of a rich person for me to actually believe it is true. Seriously?

MADISON SECOND ONLY TO AUSTIN?
As a place to see a rock show? Wow. That’s good to see, and so sad for other places.

ANOTHER AIR QUALITY ALERT
Breathe carefully. Our pollutants aren’t blowing away fast enough.

ALDER-MEN
C’mon Chris . . . or the editors, really? Didn’t that word disappear in the 70s? I do agree, the alders deserve some sympathy . . . and a good discussion about their future. But, Alder-MEN is not the way to start it off.

DO THEY STILL TEACH GUN SAFETY CLASSES
Perhaps they should offer a refresher. And make it mandatory.

MAYOR OUT OF TOWN . . . CLEAR ACTING MAYOR

From: Mayor
Sent: Friday, November 19, 2010 1:19 PM
To: ALL ALDERS; Dept Division Heads; MY GROUP; Clerk
Subject: ABSENCE FROM THE CITY: November 19-28, 2010

I will be absent from the City starting today, November 19, until Wednesday afternoon, November 24. I will be deer hunting in Richland County and northern Wisconsin. Cell phone service there is spotty at best. In an emergency I can be reached through any member of my staff who will have the farmhouse phone number.

I will return to the office on Monday morning, November 29. If you need to reach me before that time, my number is 608-516-1570.

During my absence, City Council President Mark Clear will be acting mayor.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Dave
