Madison Madness – Ends Monday

Like the basketball tournament, Madison Madness will end on Monday, April 7th. Hundreds of residents have filled out their brackets and shared their perspectives and priorities for future growth. If you haven’t filled out a bracket, you still can! Two minutes and 31 clicks is all it takes.

Project Update: Atticus Way
Location: 4649 Verona Rd
Estimated Schedule: April 1, 2025 – July 3, 2025
April 4, 2025 Update
The Atticus Way construction project is scheduled to begin the week of April 14, 2025 and should be completed by late May 2025.
The City of Madison has awarded the contract to Speedway Sand & Gravel, Inc.
The City Inspector, Chris Horst, chorst@cityofmadison.com, 608-261-9972 will be the best on-site contact throughout construction work.

Project Update: CCB Remodel – DCR 104 & 108A
Location: 210 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
Estimated Schedule: April 1, 2024 – December 5, 2025
April 4, 2025 Update
Quarter 2 2025 Update
The CCB Remodel – DCR 104 & 108A project has been awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Tri-North Builders. The construction is expected to start on April 14th and run through Quarter 4 of 2025. There should be no major disruptions to the public. DCR (Department of Civil Rights) will continue to function out of their existing office and the 5th floor scope of work only affects internal Public Health staff.
The first construction activity will be building temporary construction partitions to protect the public from the construction zone. The Contractor will proceed with demolition and then start wall framing, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing in early May 2025.
Project Update: State Street Campus Garage Mixed-Use Project
Location: 415 N. Lake Street
Estimated Schedule: April 5, 2021 – September 30, 2026
April 3, 2025 Update
Quarter 2 2025 Update
The City Public Works Contractor has been completing the garage exterior façade and interiors components. The north, south, and east masonry work will be complete by mid-April. The Phase 2 Housing Developer will complete the remaining exterior façade scope. The Public Works Contractor has been working on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection throughout garage. MGE equipment was delivered to the site on April 1st for installation in the electrical vault. The Public Works Contractor has completed the interior masonry and a portion of the parking garage topping slab. The Housing Developer is progressing through the housing slab decks above.
The Public Works Contractor is on track to demobilize from the site in June 2025. They will return in 2026 to start up the building with the Housing Developer and the two will gain building occupancy together.

April 2, 2025 Update
Quarter 2 2025 Update
Construction work in Quarter 1 2025 included the mass timber columns, beams and decking along with framing exterior walls. The structure will top out in early April 2025 when the roof is completed. Having the roof and exterior walls completed will result in a dry interior and one of the first interior activities will be pouring the concrete floor slabs. Construction substantial completion is currently tracking for mid December 2025.
