Hopefully, I’ll be back on track with the daily round ups now.
DAVID DRYER’S CONTRACT
They tried to push this through at the last minute at the last council meeting, but that was quickly stopped. I heard many were up in arms, but didn’t quite realize what it was about. I was surprised he was getting renewed, but now I see that there is some provisions that might not make it a 5 year contract.
IN SEARCH OF PLATINUM STATUS
Oh, the ego. I don’t mind this being a big priority, but I can think of a few others that are important too that I see no signs of. Note, one of the issues in Dryer’s contract is the bike program, apparently they’re not doing enough.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO SID BOYUM’S ART?
Seems no one knows.
STROLLERS
Hearing on July 13th. Should people be kicked off buses if they don’t fold up their strollers?
OVERTURE QUESTIONS
I got one, if the Mayor created a committee to look at something isn’t that a city committtee that needs to follow the open meetings laws?
Meanwhile, Mayor Dave Cieslewicz has asked an independent group of business and community leaders to help create a plan for the future of Overture.
TRAIN QUESTIONS
Yeah, not many answers here either. Robbie Webber found some information.
GARVER FEED MILL QUESTIONS
Can they raise the money?
WIND FARM QUESTIONS
Will Dane County lose the wind farm becuase utilities won’t buy the electricity? We’ll find out tomorrow.
911 CENTER SCREWED UP AGAIN
Sigh. 20 minutes to get to a bank robbery. Yeah, that’s not good.
BUMPS
Looks like moving my blog has another glitch. And, it looks like I’ll leave up the old site for good unless I figure out how to change all those links which could be very time consuming.
WMC & POLARIZED POLITICS
Leader laments they may have contributed to it. No shit. Ya think?
YOU TOON
You fill in the cartoon bubbles on mosquitoes. It’s Wisconsin, deal with it.
SOMETIMES, THINGS SHOULDN’T BE RUN MORE LIKE A BUSINESS
It’s a phrase that has been bugging me. Especially when you see thing like developer fraud, Cassville Bank gets third warning letter, Anchor Bank not doing so hot, etc. etc. etc.
LOWEST MORTGAGE RATES SINCE 1971
Perhaps its time to refinance, again.
I have two other questions on the Overture: Why can these banks forgive loans to the Overture but not struggling mortgage holders and if they can afford to do this why can’t they lower interest rates for struggling credit card debtors?
SOMETIMES, THINGS SHOULDN’T BE RUN MORE LIKE A BUSINESS
There’s also less chances for uppity citizens to participate when gov’t is run like a business.
