Tonight the County Public Protection and Judiciary will be approving $47,000 from Federal Homeland Security and Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for what? “Advanced Tactical Integration Training”, whatever that is.
Here’s the resolution to be considered tonight at 5:15 and is sponsored by Paul Rusk, Dorothy Krause, Maureen McCarville, Andrew Schauer, Michael Willett or 5 of the 7 members of that committee (Carousel Bayrd and Leland Pan did not sign on):
AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT TO ACCEPT HOMELAND SECURITY AND WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS GRANT FUNDING FOR TACTICAL INTEGRATION TRAINING
Federal Homeland Security (HS) and Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs (DMA), is providing grant funding to the Sheriff’s Office to support Dane County Homeland Security tactical integration training, DMA Grant Number 2014-HSW-02B-10533. The grant period for this funding is March 19, 2015 through September 30, 2015. Funding will provide for advanced tactical integrated training for emergency response providers, focusing on critical incident management.
This fully interactive hands-on training program will provide the necessary skills for integration of Bomb Technicians/ EOD professionals into tactical teams. Students are taught proven methods and crucial skills for dynamic operations in high risk environments where rapid response is vital for the successful outcome of a mission. The ultimate goal for this training is to create true operational interoperability between Bomb and Tactical teams.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Sheriff’s Office is authorized to accept $47,000 from HS, Wisconsin DMA for tactical integration training.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $47,000 is set up as additional revenue in the Sheriff’s Office, Field Services Division, Integration Training (SHRFFLD NEW) and is credited to the General Fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $47,000 is transferred from the General Fund to Sheriff’s Office, Field Services Division, Integration Training (SHRFFLD NEW).
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that on behalf of the County of Dane, the county clerk and county executive are authorized to execute an agreement embodying the above provisions.
Funny, this was the excuse for why homeless people can’t store their things at the City-County Building last night, the risk of something like the Boston Bombing happening at the City-County Building or it taking days to go through the belongings outside if a threat is called in when discussed at the City-County Liaison Committee, but apparently its not the same risk when moved across the street to the municipal building (which is the new plan)? WARNING THIS IS A JOKE NOT A THREAT (have to point that out before some county board supervisor or board chair calls the sheriff on me) I’m thinking this is the new plan for Judge Doyle Square, blow it up so they need to rebuild something there. (yes, that is a JOKE, maybe not a good one, but it is not meant to be taken as a threat to anyone.)
