Until at least the week of July 19th. What to do?
Well, not quite mulchless according to this email you can get yours today!. There are a few places you might be able to get some.
Attached is a press release announcing the fact that we will not have any wood mulch available due to an equipment issue at our Transfer Station/Brush Site. It will take us about two weeks to resolve the problem.
There is a limited amount of material that we will place at the four parks where we make brush available tomorrow (Garner, Elver, Sycamore and Warner) when that material is gone we will not have any material until our shredder is fixed.
This information has been posted on our web site in addition to the attached press release.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Al Schumacher or myself.

I think he means mulch not brush.
Here’s the press release, but I don’t see additional info there:
Equipment Problems Cut Off Supply of Free Wood Mulch
The Streets Division is experiencing problems with its wood processing equipment. Those problems have forced the Division to stop supplying free wood mulch until at least the Week of July 19th.
“We know that many of our residents look forward to getting free mulch from the City for home landscaping projects,” Dreckmann said. “Unfortunately, our brush shredder is having mechanical problems that require us to shut it down for a minimum of two weeks. That means we will not be able to supply free wood mulch to the public.”
“We do not know at this time how long repairs will take,” Dreckmann said. “If our equipment is down for an extended period of time we will look at renting a machine so we can keep up with our curbside collection.”
Residents will be notified when brush is available on the Streets Division web site www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
