Upcoming Activities: In recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education ruling, and inlight of the state of education for children of color in Wisconsin, The NAACP Wisconsin Conference of Branches is sponsoring a state-wide Education Summit on May 17, 2014 in Beloit WI. (Beloit is the home of the NAACP’s oldest Wisconsin Branch) The State Conference is very excited to have Dr. Demond Means, Superintendent of the Mequon-Thiensville School District and Chair of the WI State Superintendent’s Task Force on Wisconsin’s Achievement Gap as Keynote Speaker. In addition there will be concurrent workshops (for adults and youth) covering a broad range topics from Educational Advocacy to Restorative Justice, and more.
The price of admission is $30 for Adults and $10 for Youth. Lunch is included. The NAACP is seeking participation from members of all Branches and our communities, program ads and sponsorships are are available for purchase – information is attached.
