I’ll try not to mention it, not even once!
SCHOOL BOARD PUBLIC HEARING TONIGHT
Oh yeah, if you’re not going to the meeting on that-which-shall-not-be-named, there’s a public hearing on the school board budget tonight and on June 1. But dang! Even they are going to be talking about IT. I’m not kidding, its item 4.
CARPC DOES ITS JOB
Didn’t read about this in the paper, did you? Heck, you probably don’t even know what CARPC is. It’s the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission and it deals a lot with water issues and extensions of sewer service so that development can take place. And, they they got it right!
ANOTHER HUGE BUILDING IN THE CAMPUS AREA
And it has a hotel! It’s on the corner of Johnson and Bassett and they will be doing an informational presentation at UDC. Click on the link to see pictures and Erik Paulson’s comments.
WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL REPORTS THAT THE WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL REPORTS . . .
WHAT? I read in the Wisconsin State Journal that . . .
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Brat Fest organizers have arranged to change the color of the exterior lighting of the Capitol dome to that of their favorite condiment.
Even stranger, they don’t even link to their own story they are reporting about. I’m not kidding.
METRO SPIN
I just love how things get re-framed. Ridership would have been up 6% without the fare increase, instead, they got lucky and its up 1.4%. A much smaller increase than they could have had. Basically the fare increase made it so they could put money in the bank. And I’m curious, how much of the increased ridership is really from the small business bus pass? I’d love to see numbers on that.
HOTEL TAXES UP TOO
Even more than bus ridership . . . 2.9%!
IT SOUNDS LIKE A JOKE.
Water tower catches on fire. Seriously.
HERE’S SOMETHING THE COPS ARE DOING RIGHT
Even if it takes a year to figure it out.
NAKED AT THE FARMER’S MARKET
This ought to be interesting.
THIS WAS A GREAT EVENT!
And yes, kudos to Helen Vukelich and Cynthia Lin for all they have done and all they will do! Thank you.
MADISON CRACKS DOWN ON SOCIALISTS
This must have the tea baggers rolling in laughter. Seems fitting for the times we are living in, especially given that-which-shall-not-be-named. I’d call us progressive no more.
HYBRID TAXI’S
It’s about time. Of course Union Cab is the first! 🙂
That’s all I have unless I mention the unmentionable! And I didn’t do a very good job, did I?
