Obstructionists?

The Director of Human Services is claiming, in response to an open records request about the properties that they investigated for the day warming center, that she has no records. Believe it?

Seemed to me to be the logical question to be asking at this point, they claim they have worked really hard to make this happen. But nothing has happened and they are looking at a temporary solution for the third year in a row.

Please send me a comprehensive list of the properties that were investigated to be a possible permanent day resource center for the homeless as well as, to the extent you can, the reasons why the properties were not acceptable. This will prevent all of us from going over old ground as the community scrambles to figure out how to provide a permanent comprehensive day center for this fall.

Do you believe her? I don’t, as I have an email where I sent her an address to investigate, and that would constitute a record that should have been disclosed.

I can’t believe I am the only one that sent her an address to be investigated since she asked people to do it at nearly every meeting where this was discussed. I don’t remember if I sent her the address in response to the temporary or permanent center, but if I were them, to prove they had done their job, I’d make that list as long as they possibly could to make sure they could show that they aren’t being obstructionists that we all think they are being.

You just can’t make this shit up. It’s embarrassing.
