I wanted to share two developments on the Day Resource Center with HSC members. As a result of the County’s request for proposal (RFP) review process, the County has entered negotiations with Catholic Charities to operate the facility.
Additionally, the County has closed on the proposed site, the Chamber of Commerce Building on 615 East Washington Avenue, and now has ownership of the building. The Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce will continue to be a tenant until November 1st.
There will be several public meetings with an opportunity to learn more about the project, ask questions, and provide input in the near future. The following dates and times are tentative and may be subject to change – I wanted to give people an idea of when the meetings might occur as soon as possible. I will follow up with final details on dates, locations, and meeting format once they’ve been confirmed.
1. Monday, September 19th at 6:30pm, City County Building (210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.). The City County Homeless Issues Committee will have a Day Resource Center update on their agenda at this meeting.
2. Wednesday, September 21st from 7pm to 9pm – Location TBD
3. Wednesday, September 28th from 9:30am – 11:30am – Location TBD
