Interesting, aren’t the conservatives usually the cop favorites, since they blindly fund whatever the department wants so they can “get tough on crime!”. . . interesting times we live in.
Parisi Earns Support of Dane County Sheriff, Dane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association
MADISON – Former Dane County Clerk and State Representative Joe Parisi (D-Madison) announced the endorsements of Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney and the Dane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association in his race for Dane County Executive today.
“As County Executive, law enforcement can count on Joe to be a strong partner in keeping Dane County’s communities safe,” said Sheriff Mahoney. “His record as a victims’ rights advocate speaks for itself, and his commitment to our county and its citizens runs deep.”
“Joe’s wealth of experience, combined with his tireless support of working families, makes him the clear choice to lead Dane County,” said Bob Richardson, President of the Dane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. “Joe also understands that a healthy community is a safe community, and will fairly determine what is needed for our deputies to ensure the public’s safety.”
As a legislator, Joe received awards from victims’ rights advocates for his work to protect survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, and for authoring legislation that gave law enforcement additional tools to bring these abusers to justice. As Dane County Executive, Joe will continue to be an advocate for reducing the county’s jail population through smart on crime initiatives, and will work with law enforcement to balance the budget in a way that will keep Dane County safe.
“I’m proud of my work to make our communities safer and I am honored to have the endorsement of Sheriff Mahoney and the Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies,” said Parisi. “As County Executive, I will continue my work to protect public safety and address the root causes of crime.”
