Regional Transportation Plan

Sigh, more planning. But its important! Time to make your voices heard and help create the vision for the next 30 years or so. Make sure to give input on-line if you can’t make it to the meetings.

The Madison Area Transportation Planning Board (MATPB), the Madison Area’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), is kicking off its update of the Regional Transportation Plan.

You are invited to attend one of our initial series of public meetings (see information below) on the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) 2050: Charting Our Course.

You will have the opportunity to:
· Hear about the process to prepare the plan.
· Learn about trends affecting the region and projected growth and development.
· Provide input on important issues, needs, challenges, and opportunities you think should be considered.
· Give us your thoughts on the draft vision and goals that will guide the plan.
· Talk with MATPB staff about current plans and planning activities.

The RTP is the region’s blueprint for future transportation investments, strategies, and actions covering all modes. It provides the policy direction and framework, which is refined through corridor, mode specific, and strategic studies and plans.

We need to hear from you! Our transportation system affects all of us every day in many ways. It has a major impact on the regional economy, supports and influences patterns of growth, and affects our quality of life. Join us in this important planning process.
