Ok, I met my goal of doing the round up for a week in a row, and hopefully this is back on a daily basis . . . because it is very popular . . . it’s just a lot of work.
ADIOS CHOO-CHOO
We all knew it was coming, but the final word on us losing the high speed rail money is just . . . well, stunning.
– Or Boneheaded
– Walker not taking calls on the issue, just issues a statement. Coward. Glenn Grothman disappointed with loss o money. No, not cuz the rail went away, but because the money should be used or roads.
– Check out the Dane101 Job Watch . . . going negative . . .
– Cap Times, politics over progress.
– Badger Herald
– As if to make my point about the “boys” in politics . . . check out this photo and who is quoted that is elected. I still agree, its a “black day” . . . it’s just this article really made my point from earlier this week.

THEY’RE GOING TO STEAL OUR FUNK
In my experience, the way to ruin an area that allegedly has funk and buzz . . . hand it over to some planners. Will the City ruin the E. Washington corridor? I’m not saying the car lots should go . .. but I do wonder how this spills over into the Johnson/Gorham and Willy St. neighborhoods.
RUN, EILEEN, RUN
She’s “on the verge” of deciding if she is running for County Exec. That would make the race interesting. Meanwhile, she thinks they should grope away at the airport.
I DON”T WANT TO GET ARTHUR ROSS’D
I can’t tell you how many times a city staff person has said this to me or around me since the budget. The mayor, very effectively, osent a very strong message to staff. Your job is at risk if I don’t like what you’re doing. Then refuses to talk about it. And, sadly, never made clear what it was all about, so staff are left guessing just exactly what might land them in the same situation. This is awful. The repercussions will be felt for years if the mayor is re-elected.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE COLLINS HOUSE IN JAMES MADISON PARK
Hacker house?
NEW PLANNING DIRECTOR
The mayor will nominate Steve Cover for the job. Technically the Director of the Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development. I wonder if the comments here and whatever else gets dug up make it so the Council rejects the nomination?
