Wilson St. Corridor Study Meeting
As you may know, West Wilson Street from South Broom Street to South Henry Street is scheduled for reconstruction in 2019. Water main breaks and deteriorated pavement over the last year have made this project a priority. As part of the approval for the 2018 reconstruction project on West Wilson Street, the Common Council required that the City conduct a more comprehensive transportation study of the Wilson Street corridor—South Broom Street to South Blair Street. A map of the study area is available here.
With another project scheduled, the City is currently studying how the Wilson Street corridor (Broom Street to Blair Street) functions for all modes of transportation. Project public meetings were held in November and December and laid out project background, goals and objectives, existing conditions and possible design alternatives. For this information, see the meeting materials at the project website here.
A third public meeting will be held in order to discuss and get feedback on new alternative designs in development. Materials for the third public meeting will be uploaded to the project website after the meeting.

Madison Infoshop’s 2019 “Reclaim the Commons” Seed Swap is OPEN – 1202 Williamson St.!
In celebration of Ground Hog Day and the eventual coming of Spring, the Madison Infoshop in conjunction with the Mutual Aid Workspace (MAW) at the Social Justice Center (1202 Williamson St.) – would like to invite the community to participate in our 2019 “Reclaim the Commons” Seed Swap! Local heirloom and open pollinated varieties are preferred, hybrids will be “tolerated,” while patented genetically engineered seeds are most “unwelcome.” It is also good to note that older seeds (3+ years) will have poorer germination rates (50-70%) but are certainly worth trying if you wish. While visiting the Madison Infoshop, be sure to check out our array of free zines on seed saving, agroecology, organic gardening, making compost, and the like, as well as the related book titles in our lending library available for check-out. Seeds are a treasure that belong to everyone, so thanks for joining this collective effort at reclaiming our heritage! Info? https://madinfoshop.wordpress.com/

Sign Student Petition on Green New Deal
Dear Neighbors,
We’re part of a local youth-led campaign working to pass a Madison resolution in conjunction with the proposed Green New Deal.
The Green New Deal is a national resolution presented by New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Its main goal is to help the environment by updating infrastructure and switching to 100% renewable energy, helping the economy by providing jobs, and finally, fighting for social, economic, and racial justice.
Our resolution would promote 100% renewable energy, create environmental jobs, and protect low-income families in Madison and across the country.
Please sign our petition and share widely! Additionally, on March 19th our resolution will be presented to the City Council. Our goal is to pack the room! Come to the City-County Building at 6:20 pm to show your support.
Thanks for your time,
Ella Jordahl, Isabel Rameker, and Danielle LaLuzerne

The flora and fauna of the ArboretumRestore the Land, Become a Leader: Arboretum Restoration Team Leader Training
Do you enjoy working with others while taking care of the Earth? If so, we encourage you to become a Restoration Team Leader. You will develop professional ecological skills, practice the land ethic, and give back to your community.
Team leaders play a critical role in restoring Arboretum prairies and savannas by supervising other volunteers at Saturday morning ecological restoration work parties. They also gain invaluable personal and professional experience as they learn about native ecosystems and plants, manage and maintain native landscapes, and develop leadership and communication skills. Team leaders get to know the Arboretum and how it works in every season.
Restoration Team Leader Training will begin March 31, 2019. You will participate in an extensive training that includes working outdoors, workshops, and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. We ask for a big commitment, and we provide a unique and enduring opportunity in leadership and ecological restoration. For more information, please contact Marian Farrior at (608) 265-5214 or marian.farrior@wisc.edu.
Also, Stewardship Training begins on March 31, 2019. For more information, please contact Stephanie Peterson at (608) 262-2746 or smpetersen2@wisc.edu
