It’s kinda winter, snow expected to fall, but sounds like no snow emergency cuz it will just melt.

A Bit Slippery Out ThereOur 30 salting and sanding crews have been out since around 4:30 am this morning. Salt and salt brine is being applied to our salt routes, which are our main arterials, main connector streets, streets that Madison Metro runs on and streets around schools and hospitals. The weather forecast is calling for a little ice changing over to snow with around 11/2″ of snow ending around 2pm.
All this means is that you should use good winter driving techniques when you drive and break early and be cautious at all times.
We will continue to salt and plow our salt routes until they are no longer slippery and the snow has been plowed off of them. We will not be plowing the residential streets. We will also be sanding the hills, intersections and curves.
We are expecting temperatures around 34 today and 42 for Saturday.
