They may just plow and salt the main street . . . .
SNOW PLOWING UPDATES

Salting crews are ready to apply salt and begin plowing our 30 salt routes as soon as the seasons first major winter storm arrives. Crews will focus on the main streets, the main arterials, connector streets, Madison Metro Bus Routes and the streets around the hospitals and schools. Residential streets will not get much attention until much later in the storm or until the storm is over.It appears that the storm will not be over by midnight tonight and at this time it does not look like the plowing of all residential streets will begin until closer to daybreak on Sunday morning. With the severity of the storm, the high winds and rapidly dropping temperatures, it will more than likely take more than 12 hours to plow all residential streets.
If the forecast holds true and we get the heavy snow that is predicted, the Street Division may put the plowing and salting of all salt routes on hold and just maintain the main arterial routes. The main arterial routes are streets like University Ave., Mineral Point Rd., Johnson St., E. Washington Ave. and Hwy. 113 among others.
If at all possible, find off street parking or at a minimum abide by alternate street parking rules. Check with the media, the Winter Hotline at 266-9111, or the winter website at www.cityofmadison.com/winter to sign up for text alerts, email notification or twitter alerts to see if and when a Snow Emergency will be declared.
Is there anywhere to see what the city considers one of the main streets, the main arterials, connector streets?
High Point seemed neglected last snow fall, and I’m wondering if it was missed or if I hit it at a bad time or is it not considered a key street?
The city publishes its salt route maps here, Lukas:
