Local Legislative Leaders Endorse
Rep. Joe Parisi for Dane County ExecutiveMADISON – Former Dane County Clerk and State Representative Joe Parisi (D-Madison) announced the endorsement of legislative leaders from across the county for his candidacy for Dane County Executive today.
“Our new political reality has shown that we need Joe working for us as our next County Executive, not as a Democratic member of the Assembly,” said Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Madison.) “While we’ll miss him, we know that with his experience as a legislator and a county administrator, and with his long history of standing up for Dane County, he will get more done for our progressive values on the local level.”
“I’m honored to have the support of these legislative leaders,” said Parisi. “Together we passed important initiatives on the state level that helped create and retain jobs across the state, and protect our environment. I look forward to working with them as Dane County Executive to continue to strengthen our community.”
Other area legislators supporting Joe include Rep. Terese Berceau (D-Madison), Rep. Gary Hebl (D-Sun Prairie), Rep. Andy Jorgensen (D-Ft. Atkinson) Albion, Deerfield, Rep. Sondy Pope-Roberts (D-Middleton), and Rep. Janis Ringhand (D-Evansville) Montrose, Oregon.
Joe’s support extends beyond Dane County as well, recognizing his ability to use a regional approach to strengthen the potential for Dane County’s growth. These endorsements include Assembly Democratic Leader Rep. Peter Barca (D-Kenosha), Assistant Democratic Leader Donna Seidel (D-Wausau), Rep. Fred Clark (D-Baraboo), Rep. Tamara Grigsby (D-Milwaukee), and Rep. Sandy Pasch (D-Milwaukee).
As Dane County Executive, Parisi will focus on job creation and retention, making the county a leader in family-supporting clean energy jobs, and protecting vital human and public services that keep our families and our community safe.
The support of these legislative leaders is the latest endorsement for Parisi. Recently, Joe received the endorsement of leading environmental advocates, Former Dane County Executive Rick Phelps, and the United Transportation Union, the first union endorsement of any candidate in the Dane County Executive’s race.
