TAA Endorses Kyle Szarzynski In District 8 Aldermanic Race
On Wednesday evening the Teaching Assistants’ Association (TAA), UW-Madison’s graduate employee union, endorsed Kyle Szarzynski for District 8 Alder.
Kyle, who is running in the 8th aldermanic district, thanked the TAA for its support and said he was happy to add the union to his long list of community endorsements.
“The TAA is a terrific organization that fights everyday for the rights of workers at UW-Madison. As a student I am honored to accept their endorsement of my candidacy and look forward to working with them closely if elected to the city council.”
Peter Rickman, the TAA’s Political Education Committee chair, praised the endorsement noting that:
“As a student and labor activist, I am proud to support Kyle because he has been there in the struggles for social and economic justice. He brings a commitment to a progressive vision for local politics formed through a wealth of experience that will benefit not only his constituents but also the entire City of Madison.”
Kyle, who faces two opponents in Tuesday’s primary, added that this latest development should give him great momentum going into Election Day.
