Here we go again . . . with no Edgewater meetings! They are supposed to get their amended applications in this week, next week was the week they were going to start ramming the project through the process, but that got derailed, so watch for another new schedule this week. Here’s the items I find of interest, the rest of the schedule, which is sure to change throuhgout the week, is here.
Monday, March 8, 2010
3:00 PM COMMON COUNCIL WORK GROUP TO REVIEW SNOW POLICIES & PROCEDURES ROOM 525 CCB
– This is supposed to be their last meeting, where they do a report to the council, but they don’t even have a draft yet. Hopefully someone from downtown can show up this time, but I’m guessing with the track record so far, and with the meetings being during the workday, they won’t be able to. (Note: Looks like Rummel didn’t resign, she’s still listed as a member?)
– There’s some attachments after the agenda that you’ll find of interest if you care about this type of thing.
4:30 PM BOARD OF ESTIMATES ROOM 260 MMB
– (Not less than) 25 cent fee for credit/debit card payments to the City. So this mean that in addition to paying an extra $.20 in the new meters that aren’t in use yet, you get to pay another $.25? Or is that exempt because its the parking utility? And this is an interesting tactic:
The electronic payment transaction fee shall be amended from time to time, without amendment of this ordinance, if an increased fee is approved as part of the City Budget.
– More money to the police department from the contingent reserve.
– Starting Central Park before the final plan is approved.
–TIF for Wingra Commons (note, no closed session here)

5:00 PM PUBLIC SAFETY REVIEW COMMITTEE MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT, 211 S CARROLL ST ROOM GR-22
– Increasing fines for trespass and menacing panhandling
– Noise amplification permits for private property. There are no details, but I think this is to allow bands to play on private property with a permit. However, the item is “by title only” which is highly frowned upon and requires a 2/3 vote which because it is by title only AND because it has no fiscal note, but it didn’t get it.
– Downtown Safety Plan 2010 (No info available)
– Report on How the Automated System is working
