The Only 11 Meetings City Week Ahead

Yeah, right. Looks like it will be a busy week updating the following, cuz you know there isn’t really only 11 meetings this week. This really sucks. Seriously, I’m pretty sure meetings will be added, but its awful for transparency and for the public and press to plan to attend any meetings. Here’s three more meetings added on Monday.

Monday, June 21, 2010
12:00 PM MADISON REVITALIZATION & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 2 WAUNONA WOODS CT. #102
– Hmmm, looks like the organizational meeting for a new? management board for the CDAs Monona Shores. Not sure why they’re doing this. I don’t recall the CDA or Council approving or creating this new group. Tho, the CDA agendas are usually very vague, so who knows?

4:00 PM JOINT BOARD OF DIRECTORS 201 STATE STREET, BOARDROOM, LOWER LEVEL
– A meeting of Madison Cultural Arts District, 201 State Foundation, Inc. and Overture Development Corporation with only one agenda item
– – 3. Discussion and possible action on debt negotiations
However, there’s no point in trying to attend because if anyone shows up, they go into closed session.

Memo on cleaning garbage carts

5:30 PM PLAN COMMISSION ROOM 201 CCB

Summary and review of public hearing comments on pedestrian/bicycle projects for the 2011-2013 capital budget
– Approving Mifflin Street bike boulevard traffic control at Webster & Mifflin and Blair & Mifflin (This is all we know so far.)

  1. Again, your suspicions have gotten the better of you. MRCDC is not new, probably goes back to original Monona Shores development. And as a leftist, I can’t believe you really think the exercise of eminent domain is acquiring property “by force.” Kinda sound like a Tea Partier, y’know?

  2. Well, they weren’t exactly willing sellers from what I could tell. And if they transparency you promised was a reality, I wouldn’t be suspicious. I don’t recall the MRCDC ever meeting before, at least I haven’t seen it noticed since I’ve been doing the week ahead.
