Here it is . . . enjoy!
CONSTRUCTION SEASON IS UPON US

JOHN NOLAN BIKE PATH CLOSED

CHILDCARE RATING SYSTEM
The new childcare rating system was unveiled yesterday.
LIBRARY REHAB SCHEDULE
Wow, the council never voted or even had a chance to discuss and the Mayor has already announced how it will be done. Interesting. Here’s the schedule which they already started working on.
YUP, OUR HOUSING IS EXPENSIVE
But I guess we like it that way. In the Midwest, only Chicago has a higher median home price. Madison was $189,000 in 2009. And a two bedroom tied with Minneapolis for second at $899 median price.
EDGWATER GOING BACK TO LANDMARKS
Wow, this ended up being an interesting strategy. Go to Landmarks first because UDC and Plan Commission needed to hear from Landmarks, then, appeal the decision of Landmarks to the council and tell UDC and Plan Commission that the issue is now in the Council’s hands so the issues weren’t really considered, then, after UDC and Plan get done, then go back to Landmarks when their opinion can no longer have an impact on the UDC and Plan decision. I tend to agree the system is broken, but its just the decision making with blinders that needs to be taken a look at. But, Hammes is pleased.
BARRETT UNHAPPY WITH EDGEWATER REPORTING
He has not one, but two posts on it.
HOW BIG WILL THE EDGWATER BE?
Think about this, compare it to Capitol West.
The first numbers are Capitol West, the second numbers are the Edgewater:
length 223′ 211′
width 75′ 72′ at guest rooms
upslope height 123′ 102′
downslope hgt 136′ 123′
Both sites are sloped, Edgewater down to the lake, Capitol West down W. Wash. So the upslope height is taken from the sidewalk to the rooftop at the high end of the site and the downslope similarly at the low end.
For the Edgewater the downslope measurement is take from the public plaza to the rooftop.
Capitol West is basically one or two floors taller.
FOOD REPORT DELAYED
Madison School District too busy with the budget to reveal the report.
WOMEN CAN’T VOTE OR SPEAK
I forgot this crazy church story yesterday. It’s crazy to think that this kind of thinking still exists today.
