Native Plants: Good for the Environment, Good for your Home
Presented by Amy Jo Dusick and Frank Hassler, Good Oak Ecological Services
We all love flowers…but are all flowers created equally? Learn how you can not only add beauty to your garden, but also add habitat for pollinators, birds and other animals by adding native plants to your home landscape. Plus, learn how adding native plants to your yard can help deal with home water issues, and better manage storm runoff.

10/19 from 12 – 1
Creating a Tree Plan for your Home
Presented by Briana Frank, Tree Health Management
How often do you think about the trees in your yard? If you’re like many homeowners, likely not enough. Let Briana Frank teach you how management of your yard’s “forest” can save you money, add habitat for birds and beasts, lower your carbon footprint, and even lower your energy costs!

All of the workshops are from noon-1pm, are free and open to the public. Space is limited to 25 attendees per workshop, though, so registration is required. Just click https://forms.gle/kFKt8WwV8RuWhpoy5 to register, or email Roost Realty at home@roostinmadison.com

INTERNATIONAL COOKING AND DINNER, HOMESTAY NEEDED FOR 50 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FROM PANAMA

I have 2 things I want to share with you:
1. International Cooking and Dinner resumes this Saturday at Christ Presbyterian Church and you are invited. Delicious and authentic food from all over the world and an opportunity to make new friends. Cooking starts at 3 pm and dinner follows at 6 pm. Join us!
2. WESLI, the ESL school on the square is expecting a group of about 50 Panamanian students in October who have all need homestay families.  They’re a mix of male and female and all university students. They’ll likely be in their early-mid 20s. They will be here for 8 months. It’s true that 8 months can be quite a commitment, so if someone can only host for two, four, six months, that’s completely fine. Host families will received about $600 per month.
If you or anyone is interested, please contact Emily at emily.faszold@wesli.com
I’ve attached a flyer to this email if anyone would like more information. WESLI Host Families
Thank you!
