F for transparency, F for public input, F for any type of equity or inclusion.
So, here’s a lesson in how to screw the public. Hold a meeting and
1. Put this agenda item on the agenda: DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE SELECTION OF JOINT REVIEW BOARD PUBLIC MEMBER REPLACEMENT
2. Make sure to not include any useful information about who might be being considered.
3. Don’t have a public process where you accept applications.
4. Put the notice for the meeting out just 72 hours and 46 minutes before the meeting, making sure it doesn’t get posted properly on Friday when its supposed to.
5. Hold your meeting at noon when working people are at . . . you know, work.
How much you wanna bet they pick a white guy?
(Normally, when I ask a question like that, I actually know the answer. I don’t this time because I didn’t even know it was a question I should ask because I didn’t know it would be on an agenda any time soon and assumed there would be a public application process. I probably should have known, if I’d have been thinking about it, but I didn’t.)
