Sorry I skipped the weekend, but here’s this morning’s round up.
LOCAL NEWS
DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THIS ISN’T ABOUT THE NAKED BIKE RIDE?
I’m not sure I believe it was “never discussed”. Along with Skimore, Jill Johnson (allegedly the farthest right on the council) and Lisa Subeck are sponsoring the ordinance. I”m guessing Subeck is the cover to make it ok with “the left”. I wonder if she is doing anything to make it as progressive as possible while addressing legitimate concerns, or if she is just compromising it away?
NON-PROFITS GET IT, BUSINESS COMMUNITY DOESN’T
7 African American CEOs in Madison, all in non-profits. I wonder how other minority groups fare in Madison? My guess is not as well.
BIOAG PROGRESS WITHOUT THE BIOLINK
This begs the question, does the city really need to be investing in BioAg, or can they do it on their own without us?
HIDE AND GO SEEK
At Olin Turville Park. Seriously, do it.
BOOMBOX THE WASTELAND SUCCESS
And a good time was had by all.
STATE NEWS
5 ARRESTED AT THE CAPITOL YESTERDAY
I’m wondering if this is a sign of the police becoming less tolerant, or the protesters becoming less patient. Personally, this headline seems much worse than the Jt. Finance disruption. And I”m disturbed that 2 of the 5 are people trying to cover the activities at the capitol and document it. I think that is the bigger story here. And now I’m wondering if they were ticketed and for what.
YESTERDAY’S RALLY PRESS COVERAGE
The Isthmus does a nice job focusing on something other than the arrests. Nice of Feingold to join them, does this mean he’s thinking about a run?
WILL THE SUPREME COURT TAKE THE CASE?
I like how the headline makes the State Journal editorial point, and then in the article its refuted by someone who is an expert in the area. And they whine about the “liberal media’.
REPUBLICANS ARE THE VICTIMS HERE?
And that’s their excuse to “play dirty”. Nice. Nothing surprises me any more.
HIDING STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL INTEREST FORMS
The City finally moved in the right direction and put theirs on line, the state moves in the opposite direction. Even the State Journal gets why this is wrong.
