WALKER PROPOSES PRIVATIZING GOVERNMENT
A whole department. The Department of Commerce, would become a “public-private partnership” that focuses only on jobs. I wonder where the Bureau of Housing goes, of if it is just eliminated, cuz it has nothing to do with jobs? My jaw literally dropped when my co-worker pointed this out to me. The next four years are going to be wild.
NO SURPRISE, THE MAYOR IS RUNNING FOR THIRD TERM
His big issue, rail and RTA. Oh, and city services. Here’s a few. more. articles. And Cap Times editorial. Of interest to me . . . which alders showed up. Eagon, from campus, who is retiring. Schumacher, who is retiring. Skidmore, who has been threatening to retire since he got re-elected. And Tim Bruer and Joe Claussius. Where was everyone else? That’s only a 25% approval rating from the council. Since he’s a slam dunk winner, I would have expected more . . .

RICKERT CRITICAL OF OBAMA VISIT COSTS
What else could it have been used for . . . .he hits on a theme I was thinking of . . . the mayor “gave” $200K to non-profits this year in his budget, which was the first time in the 8 years he was in office that he increased that budget without the council doing it . . . $260K for the Obama visit. And while I understand you really don’t say “no” to the president, it does call into question priorities. Wanna make a bet about when the photo with Obama shows up on his campaign lit?
