What will the council talk about tonight . . . .

All kinds of interesting things on the agenda, but I guess they think there is not much worth talking about . . . here’s the two items council members have separated for discussion – kinda.

Items requested by alders to be placed on EXCLUSION LIST

14. Legislative File No. 24919 – Creating the Ad Hoc Committee on Moped Parking (Ald. Lauren Cnare, Council President – For purposes of moving a substitute resolution at the request of Mayor Soglin)

19. Legislative File No. 25254 – Accepting PILOT Payment from Pres House. (Ald. Scott Resnick, D. 8 – Business by the Council President)

The rest of these items are mostly procedural notes, unless someone chooses to discuss them. I think we will see the Goodman Liquor License discussed, which is a public hearing item.

Agenda Items #4 through #13 are PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS.

The following items were NOT on the Plan Commission agenda for February 6, 2012 as noted on the Council agenda. The Council should refer these matters as recommended by the Plan Commission in the legislative history:
11. Legislative File No. 24356 – Adopting an amendment to the Generalized Future Land Use Plan Map in the City of Madison Comprehensive Plan. (This item was referred to the 2/20/12 Plan Commission meeting and is not due back to the Council for a public hearing until 2/28/12)

12. Legislative File No. 24620 – Rezoning 6002 Cottage Grove Road, 5901-5939 Sharpsburg Drive and 857 Jupiter Drive (Plan Commission recommendation on 1/23/12 was to recess the public hearing tonight and re-refer to the 2/20/12 Plan Commission meeting)

13. Legislative File No. 24673 – Rezoning 801 S. Park Street (Plan Commission recommendation on 1/23/12 was to recess the public hearing tonight and re-refer to a future Plan Commission meeting)

55. Legislative File No. 24357 – Amending Sprecher Neighborhood Plan (Plan Commission re-referred this item to their 2/20/12 meeting)

Note
: Legislative File No. 25299 – Report: Mayor Paul R. Soglin – February 7, 2012 – Economic Challenges Presented by Other Cities & Regions appears under “Business by the Council President”, after agenda item #19 and is not assigned an agenda number. It should appear under “Business by the Mayor” following agenda item #16

The following items are extra-majority items to be included on the consent agenda with request for unanimous vote:
31. Legislative File No. 22180 SUBSTITUTE Approving a Stipulation and Settlement Agreement with Adams Outdoor Advertising, and authorizing the City Attorney to execute the same. (Report of BOE – 15 votes required)
