What you need to know for today and tomorrow

You have options. Choose wisely. ;). Here’s my plan.

TODAY – FOR THE FAMILY
1. Buy bullhorn. Actually, I bought one, I want a better one.

2. Charge electronic devices, empty files off video camera and phone camera, get batteries and kleenex. (damn allergies)

3. Write attorney’s phone number on my arm in permanent marker.

4. Try to focus at work, while answering questions from people all day. Work closes at 1:30 today and won’t reopen until noon tomorrow. (Staff, volunteers and clients will have a hard time getting here and focusing since we have a press conference here and we are half a block from the house where Tony was killed.

2:30: Listen to live broadcast of the decision on WORT. Apparently they are really strict on who can get in and I don’t need to be a part of that zoo.

Regarding DA Ozanne’s press conference tomorrow on his decision in the Tony Robinson officer involved shooting, here are further details:

It will be at 2:30 PM in the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Building, 115 W. Doty Street, Madison. It will be in Conference Room #3, which is on the second floor. Media may begin setting up by 1:45 PM. Any questions about this space should be directed to the Dane County Jail staff at (608) 284-6800.

Due to the overwhelming media response this afternoon to DA Ozanne’s press release issued at 2 PM, we are now limiting attendance to one reporter and one cameraman per news outlet.

Only official media outlets will be allowed at the press conference. Please email scanned copies of your photo IDs and valid press credentials for any staff members attending to danecoda@da.wi.gov. We need these on file to register you.

Thank you.
Michelle Marchek

Here’s a list of the churches that opened their doors for people.

4:00 Press conference with the family at the Social Justice Center.
4:00 p.m – Meet in front of the Social Justice Center
4:30 p.m – Press conference with Tony’Terrell’s family

– Madison Urban Ministry says: “Clergy and members of faith communities from throughout Dane County are invited to gather outside the residence where Tony Robinson was killed. We will join in prayer and song and at 5:00 p.m. we will march down Williamson Street to Grace Episcopal Church for more prayer and song we will then march to the Dane County Courthouse.”

There is also a candle light vigil at Pres House on Campus at 8:30 tonight

See what happens.

Tomorrow – YGB

9am – Black-OUT Wednesday

We will gather for a mass action at 9:00 AM on Wednesday morning at Williamson Street and Few Street in front of the house where Tony was murdered where we will march from to hold a People’s Court. We ask workers, students, families, and community members who share our vision to stand up for Black lives as part of this Black Spring movement, and Walk Out on Black Out Wednesday. NO WORK. NO BUSINESS. NO SCHOOL. NO JUSTICE? NO PEACE.

See what happens. Our office plans to reopen at noon assuming the street is cleared.

I’m supposed to be in Appleton teaching a seminar tomorrow, but if you see me out an about today, you will soon realize why I can’t teach an 8 hour seminar. (Did I say, damn allergies!)
