Officially, no one has the paperwork in to be on the ballot. And, there are five people who have filed paperwork aren’t who you think they are. The one with the most paperwork filed isn’t a name you’ve seen in the news. I’ve been updating this page on the county exec races throughout the day, I’m almost done . . . and it should remain updated from now on out . . .
WHAT HAS BEEN FILED
As of 4:00 pm today, this is what was filed in the clerk’s office:
Zach Brandon
Campaign Registration Statement (12-6)
Scott McDonell
Campaign Registration Statement (12-7)
Declaration of Candidacy (12-7)
Joe Parisi
Campaign Registration Statement (12-7)
Joe Wineke
Campaign Registration Statement (12-15)
Spencer Zimmerman
Campaign Registration Statement (12-21)
Declaration of Candidacy (12-21)
59 Signatures (12-22)
What’s odd about the last candidate is he’s running to abolish the position.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE FILED
Candidates need to file a Campaign Registration Statement – Form EB-1 which needs to be filed before they can spend or receive funds. A Declaration of Candidacy – Form EB-162. Nomination Papers – EB-169 where they need to collect 500 signatures, but can collect up to 1,000. I was surprised to find out that signatures had to be collected between December 22, 2010 and January 4, 2011. I think that had something to do with the date Kathleen resigned. And finally, the need a Statement of Economic Interest which can be filed within 2 weeks of the filing deadline, or by January 18, 2011. The deadline for filing above forms is January 4, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
