Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons Endorse Joe Wineke for County Executive
Construction workers back Verona Democrat in race for County Executive
[Madison] Local 599 – Area 204 of the Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons International Association (OPCMIA) announced its endorsement today of Joe Wineke for Dane County Executive. The union represents thousands of members in the residential, commercial, and road construction industries throughout Wisconsin.
“As a legislator, union organizer, and private citizen, Joe Wineke has fought for working families throughout his entire career,” said Jim Miller, Local 599’s business representative for Area 204. “Our members are proud to stand with Joe in the race for County Executive,”
While recognizing Wineke’s longtime support of organized labor at the local and state levels, Miller said it was the opportunity to endorse a candidate with real union experience that ultimately sealed OPCMIA’s endorsement decision.
“As a fellow union brother, Joe understands the needs of working men and women first hand,” said Miller. “At times like these, we need leaders with that kind of experience – leaders who know what it takes to get the job done. That’s Joe Wineke.”
The Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons are the fourth major union to endorse Joe Wineke in the race for County Executive. They join the working families of Teamsters Local 695, Carpenters Local 304, United and Steelworkers District 2 in supporting the Verona Democrat.
