In what seems like is happening almost monthly in WI, another election day is upon us. Tuesday August 9th is the partisan primary before the Presidential Election in November. The “experts” are predicting an incredibly low 16% turnout so your vote will make a HUGE difference.
To help guide those who have not been paying attention, here are some of my endorsements!
In the 47th District of Wisconsin, there is a three way primary on the Democratic side, with no Republican challenger. The winner on Tuesday will be the person who replaces Robb Kahl, the incumbent who at the last minute decided not to seek reelection.
My recommendation is to vote for Jimmy Anderson. Jimmy got into the race before Robb Kahl had even made his decision, deciding he wanted to try and make a difference by actually running for office. The fact that Jimmy decided to run for office before Robb Kahl made a decision, has upset any in the Democratic party, as if the incumbent seats belonged to the incumbents instead of the people. To show support for Mr. Kahl, this has led many of his colleagues to work against Jimmy and support Julie Arata-Fratta, one of Jimmy’s opponents. Supporting who you want is also part of our democracy, except her supporters have taken things too far!
The Construction Trades Coalition, has started a radio ad accusing Jimmy of the sin of not signing the recall petition against Scott Walker. While I think everyone in Wisconsin, not named Scott Walker should have signed, the reality is Jimmy was unable to sign his name at the time thanks to a horrific car accident. It also overlooks that the previous person to hold the seat, actually voted FOR Scott Walker and attended his victory party!
There are many more silly smears and dirty tricks going on in this district, all aimed at Jimmy, which means he must be upsetting the right people.
I know what it is like to live with major medical problems, it makes you see the world in a whole new light. You understand that slow, incremental, poll tested way of Governing does not cut it. I think Jimmy sees this also and he has been working like crazy hitting doors in the district!
Let’s reward Jimmy Anderson on Tuesday August 9th!

In the 78th Assembly district(who the hell numbers these things?), I think it is time to buck a trend and vote in the challenger Jacob Wischmeier!
The incumbent, Lisa Subeck, has been a fine Representative but its time in Wisconsin that we had more than that. The Republicans have been devastating to our state and its time we elected more people willing to be more vocal in opposing them and Jacob is the right person to do so.
While many people know Ms. Subeck and have followed her career, can you name some signature items she has accomplished?
Jacob is a lifelong Wisconsinite, graduate of UW-Madison with a degree in economics, his wife is a proud educator and member of MTI and wants to help turn Wisconsin around for his children to grow up in a better place. Jacob was inspired to run by the populist message that Bernie Sanders brought to Wisconsin and hopes to continue his work at the Capitol!
As Jacob says “My thing is the Dane county democrats need to be leading the fight and should be setting the example for the rest of the legislators. Many just seem to be going through the motions. We need to fight harder. I say, if you are fine with the way things are going and think the democrats are doing enough, support the incumbent. If you think we can do better and need to fight harder and try new strategies, vote for me.”
One more thing I would like to point out why Jacob is the person for the job. From the moment he ran, he has said he wants to get money out of politics. Not only has he said it, he has lived it. Jacob made it be known from the beginning that he would not accept donations and would run a complete grassroots campaign. This is so foreign in politics that has led many endorsements(like MTI) to back away as if he was not serious about running. Jacob is very serious about running and representing the 78th district he is trying to show that there is a better way!
While the incumbent, Ms. Subeck, knew that her opponent was spending no money that has not stopped her from holding fundraisers. She recently held one where the minimum donation was a minimum of $35 and went up from there. Ms. Subeck has amassed well over $10,000 to fight an opponent who has raised zero dollars and has even taken money from the right wing political insider consultant Thad Nation. Not the best of company!
With no Republican opponent, this election also will determine who represents the 78th Assembly District at the Capitol. Let’s tell Lisa Subeck, thank you for your service but it is time to move on, and put our no money in politics desire to a vote on Tuesday, and reward Jacob Wischmeier with a seat in the Assembly.

In the 80th Assembly district, there is also a Primary and I highly recommend re electing Sondy Pope. Sondy has been a strong fighter for Wisconsin for years and her opponent is a fake Democrat running in the wrong primary like Sheriff David Clarke.

Finally, if you are in the 1st Congressional District, I strongly urge you(Democrat, Green, Indpendent, Libertarian, Apathetic, Republican, Conservative) to vote against Paul Ryan in the primary and vote for his opponent Paul Nehlen! This is our chance to change the dynamics of politics in Washington DC and end Paul Ryan’s horrendous, extremist political career.

See you at the polls tomorrow!
