On December 1st, 1975 WORT went on the air for the first time at 8PM. On Thursday December 1st 2011 we’ll be celebrating 36 years of outstanding community radio with our BIRTHDAY BOOST one day pledge drive!
Our Birthday Boost is inspired by the one day pledge drive concept that has proven to be a very successful fundraising vehicle for community and public radio stations in recent years (including Wisconsin Public Radio). Tomorrow’s Birthday Boost will be our third, and we hope to build upon the success of the first two Boosts! We feel that WORT’s official birthday is a great day to have this drive. What better birthday present could WORT receive than a generous pledge?
The Birthday Boost will begin with Anything Goes at 5AM and end with Kosmik Radiations at 5AM on Friday morning: 24 hours of birthday boosting!
