and news . . .
Dear Members, Producers, and friends of WYOU,
There are a few things you need to know about WYOU Community Television:
We are not closing…
We are not moving…
We’re having a HUGE ELECTRONIC GARAGE SALE this weekend!!!Also, the TRULY GREAT news is that:
We will continue to cablecast WYOU but now the signal will come from the new Central Library with help from the City of Madison’s IT department!
Ever since the “Cable Competition” bill cut off PEG fees two and a half years ago, dedicated volunteers and the Board of Directors have still been producing and programming great content for our station. Recent work by the Board has led to this exciting collaboration with the new beautiful library that will keep the signal and programming going far into the future.
WYOU offices will remain at 1202 Williamson Street with the same phone number (608-258-9644). Producers will still be able to drop off their productions as always.
Unfortunately we’ll be losing our wonderful studio space. We would like to help the Social Justice Center rent it so, please help spread the word.
For independent producers, nothing will change. We will be working with the library to ascertain how to best coordinate our activities in their brand new Media Lab. Stay tuned for news about classes and future happenings. This is a big change and we have not yet dotted all the I’s nor crossed all the T’s. Please contact us through our webpage or info@wyou.org with questions or comments. We value your ideas and want your feedback. We will be sending out more information as the dust settles.
Meanwhile, come to the HUGE ELECTRONIC GARAGE SALE this weekend, Saturday & Sunday, 10/12-13 from 9am -5pm at 1202 Williamson Street – CAMERAS, CABLES, COMPUTERS, TV MONITORS, HEADPHONES, MICS, AUDIO-VIDEO MIXERS, and much much more!!
